Luffy Harem is the poly ship between Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, Nico Robin, Boa Hanco*ck, Nefertari Vivi, Marguerite, Rebecca, Shirahoshi, Alvida, Carrot and Vinsmoke Reiju from the One Piece fandom.

Canon[]

Throughout his journey Luffy has made strong bonds with numerous women. At least two have fallen in love with him, Alvida and Hanco*ck, whilst another two have become enamoured with him, Rebecca and Shirahoshi. Nami, Robin and Vivi all share close and deep bonds with Luffy and have become some of his closest friends. Reiju has great admiration and respect for Luffy, and is grateful for what he has done for her brother, Sanji. Whilst Marguerite came to be good friends with him when he arrived on Amazon Lily. Carrot has become an ally to Luffy since he arrived on Zou and has sailed with his crew where she became particularly affectionate of him. Luffy does not care much for women and thus just sees nearly all of them as his friends, and is completely oblivious to both Alvida’s and Hanco*ck’s affection for him. He has aided all of them, apart from Alvida and Marguerite, and will go to great lengths to help any of them should they need him to do so. The only exception being Alvida, who was Luffy’s first enemy out at sea.

Nami has met the majority of Luffy’s harem, since she has known him the longest, and is on very good terms with Robin, Shirahoshi and Vivi. Robin, because of her distant nature and apathy, has not formed a particular relationship with any of the other girls. Shirahoshi, Rebecca and Vivi all became friends with each other when they met at the Levely because of their shared admiration for Luffy. Out of all the girls, Hanco*ck is the most volatile and aggressive, due to her love for him, and loathes the idea of anyone else being with him. Despite this, she still sought to return him to his crew even though she was aware that Nami and Robin are his crew mates and had feared he would fall in love with them instead of her. Although, despite her possessiveness of Luffy, she was accepting of his friendship with Marguerite, one of her subordinates, as well as that of Sweet Pea and Aphelandra. Furthermore, being the Empress of Amazon Lily, she allowed Luffy to mingle with the women of the island who are all exceptionally fond of him.

Both Rebecca and Shirahoshi have intense adoration for Luffy that has yet to be shown to be romantic. Shirahoshi adored Luffy as her protector whilst he was on fish-man island and was distraught when he decided to leave. Since he has left she holds onto the promise that he made to her that he would one day show her a real forest. As a result, she refused to attend the Levely with her family because she wanted her first trip on the surface to be with Luffy. However, after reading his exploits in Totto Land, she decided to become braver, knowing that is what he expects of her. Luffy came to like Shirahoshi a lot, but found her habit of crying irritating and thus hoped to toughen her up. Rebecca developed a great fondness for Luffy during his quest to defeat Doflamingo, who had removed her family from power in Dressrosa. Despite being a strong and determined person, she soon found herself putting faith in Luffy and somewhat became emotionally attached to him. She believed in him to defeat Doflamingo and cried profusely when he succeeded. On top of this, he had saved her aunt, Viola, and reunited her with her father. As a result, she was saddened to see him leave her but hoped he would succeed on his adventures. Luffy admired Rebecca because of her determination to remove Doflamingo, despite herself being relatively weak, and thus promised to defeat him just for her.

The closest to Luffy are Nami and Robin, his crew mates. He freed them both from the entrapments they found themselves in, Nami with the Arlong Pirates and Robin with the World Government. In the case of Nami, he seems to share the most prevalent bond with as he frequently gives her his one and only treasure, his straw hat, and has shown to have complete faith in her as his navigator. Nami is the most aggressive and argumentative with Luffy but is still fond of him and cares for him deeply. To her, there is no one more reliable than him. Robin is pretty distant but has a very wholesome and kind relationship with Luffy, and could not help but cry when Luffy arrived to save her from CP9 and the World Government. She sees Luffy as the person she has been looking for her whole life who she can call family. As a result, she has remained fiercely loyal to him and wishes to become stronger for his sake, something she blushed over when she realised the idea of doing such a thing has never occurred to her before. Carrot is very new to Luffy and thus her relationship with him is still underdeveloped. However, she has come to like him quite a lot, finding him amazing, exciting and likeable. As such, she has a frequent habit of nibbling on him or rubbing her cheeks against his. Luffy is very tolerant of this and has come to care for Carrot as one of his closest friends.

Vivi first met Luffy as soon as he entered the Grand Line. Once her true identity was revealed, he decided to help her return to her home kingdom and remove Crocodile from power. Throughout her journey with him she warmed up to Luffy and tried to show him alternative ways of leading his crew. She was often shocked and amazed at how Luffy was utterly fearless and how the people around him were also never unnerved by the dangers they experienced, mostly because they had faith in Luffy as their captain. She eventually put her faith in him, after they briefly argued, and came to see him as someone she can trust to save her kingdom. Luffy had grown to like Vivi himself and wished for her to join his crew but was left upset when she declined. Vivi was distraught that she could not join him, as she had an obligation to her kingdom, and worried he would no longer see her as his friend. However, her worries were put to bed when she saw him, and the rest of the crew, raise their arm bearing the cross she had marked on them as they sailed from Alabasta, causing her to cry tears of joy.

The most minor relationships Luffy has formed is with Alvida, Marguerite and Reiju. He first met Marguerite on Amazon Lily after she saved him when he ate too many body mushrooms. They would form a friendship, despite the fact that men were forbidden on the island, and even risked her life to stop him being executed. Luffy came to see her as a good friend and appreciated that she stood up for him when he was about to be executed and was furious with the Hanco*ck sisters for their actions towards her. Since he has been allowed to visit the island, the two have remained good friends and Marguerite hopes to meet him again some day. Reiju seems to have a fondness for Luffy and saved his life by sucking out the poison in his body via mouth-to-mouth, which she did intensely. Luffy is thankful for her help and aid to retrieve Sanji and have him return to his crew. The two parted on very good terms, despite the fact that the rest of Reiju’s family loath Luffy and he does not like them either. Alvida was Luffy’s first enemy and hated him because of his brutal honesty about her appearance. However, once she ate the Slide Slide fruit, she became much more attractive and fell in love with Luffy because he had defeated her. They reunited in Loguetown where she expresses her love for him and the disappointment she felt that Buggy was going to execute him. However, Luffy escaped and they have yet to reunite. Luffy, for the most part, does not care at all for her.

Luffy’s harem can expand much greater and include even men. Luffy has formed a strong friendship with Koby, who holds sincere admiration for Luffy and sees him as his idol. The two are technically enemies but they still share a close friendship regardless. There is also Bon Clay, an okama, who came to value Luffy as one of his most cherished friends. Luffy felt the same way, and came to see him as one of his closest friends outside of his crew, and was distraught when he chose to sacrifice himself for his sake a second time as they escaped Impel Down. Bartolomeo openly identifies himself as a mega fan of the Straw Hats, and Luffy especially as he is their captain. His admiration is absolute and will happily risk his own life to help him. Such is his fondness for Luffy, he struggles to make eye contact with him without losing his composure and even cut off someone’s tongue for speaking badly of him. He has since become a subordinate of Luffy as one of the captains in his grand fleet. While Luffy came to like him a lot, and was oblivious to the fact he was enamoured over him, he did not wish to have him as a subordinate because he only wished to lead his own crew. However, he ultimately accepted him as a friend and came to terms that he now sailed under him.

Other women have also been added to the harem, such as Viola who, like her niece, chose to put her faith in Luffy to defeat Doflamingo and aided him directly when he tried to reach the warlord. Luffy was very friendly towards her, appreciating her help, and saved her from being killed by Rebecca who was being controlled by Doflamingo. Once he defeated Doflamingo, Viola cried tears of joy whilst staring up at Luffy in admiration after his victory. Another part of this ship includes the hundreds of women in the Kuja tribe, as they are all greatly intrigued by Luffy because of his stretchy skin and him being the first man they have met. They have come to accept him as the only man that can be on their island after he won Hanco*ck’s approval. They were excited when he returned from the Battle of Marineford and hoped he would visit them again some day once he left their island. In particular, Aphelandra, Sweet Pea, Ran, Daisy, Nerine, Marigold and Sandersonia have developed a likeness for him. Luffy, himself, found them a bit annoying because of their obsession with him, but views all of them as his friends and appreciates the help they have given him.

Fanon[]

The Luffy Harem is dominantly a joke in the One Piece fanbase and is mostly a meme. The reality of Luffy actually having a harem is seen as next to impossible due to the unstructured nature of the ship. Furthermore, Luffy’s relationship with each woman exist independently and any that is romantic is either for comic relief, such as Hanco*ck, or is insignificant, such as Alvida.

Nonetheless, the thought is still very much amusing to people and some have become endeared by the idea. There is curiosity at the fact Luffy seems to continuously make numerous women fond of him throughout his journey, and since the time skip this has become more prolific as he has yet to go through an arc without forming a close bond with a woman, with the exception of Punk Hazard. Members of this ship may vary depending on the shipper and some have included the entirety of the Kuja Tribe. Some people who like the joke also sometimes include Big Mom, a Yonko, because she is obsessed with Luffy, however this obsession is to kill him rather than woo him.

The ship has plenty of rivals just by the sheer quantity of people in the Luffy Harem. Primarily, Sanji’s ship with either Nami or Robin are rivals, and also the fact he is in love with all women means he could try to claim from the Harem. Other rivals include Frobin, the ship between Franky and Nico Robin, and ZoNami, the ship between Zoro and Nami. ZoRobin, the ship between Zoro and Robin is also a threat.

Trivia[]

• The first person to share a hug with Luffy is Vivi, when he saves her during the Alabasta Arc. The second is Hanco*ck, who Luffy embraced after she gave him a key to Ace’s handcuffs. And the third is Nami when he reunites with her on Zou. He is often cuddled by Carrot since she joined him on his ship.
• None of the women have kissed Luffy, but the first to lock lips with him is Reiju when she gave him mouth-to-mouth.
• In the anime, Marguerite bathed an unconscious Luffy whilst still clothed, in the manga she is naked herself.
• Rebecca notably allowed Luffy to sleep on her lap after his victory over Doflamingo.
• Luffy has only seen two of the girls naked, Nami and Hanco*ck. On the other hand, only Marguerite, and numerous other Kuja Tribe women, have seen Luffy naked.
• A common feature of the ship is how many of the women are royalty. Vivi, Hanco*ck, Shirahoshi, Rebecca, Viola and Reiju are all considered to be royal (One Empress and five princesses).
• The only time Luffy has shared his most cherished possessions, his hat and his meat, has both been with Nami. He gave her his hat in the Arlong Arc, Drum Island Arc, Jaya Arc and the Skypiea Arc. Whilst also offering her a piece of meat at the end of the Alabasta Arc. Nico Robin had briefly stolen his hat at the end of the Whiskey Peak Arc.
• Marguerite and a couple of other girls unwittingly handled an unconscious Luffy's genitals, having never met a man before.
• Luffy has refused Hanco*ck’s marriage proposals to him on two occasions.
• His love for food has been satisfied by some of the women. Nami and Hanco*ck have both cooked for him and gathered food for him to eat. Whilst Nico Robin has directly fed Luffy some of her own food. Both Rebecca and Shirahoshi have both given him some food to eat.
• Although having no perversion at all, Luffy had accidentally fondled Shirahoshi’s breasts when he entered her room and could not see. He ended up jumping up and down on her chest.
• Luffy has attacked two of the women, Alvida and Vivi. Another two are his former enemy, Robin and Hanco*ck. Whereas a few of the women have attacked Luffy at some point, these include Alvida, Nami, Vivi, Marguerite, Rebecca and Carrot.
